The Vanagons have a wider collar which causes the steering wheel to sit about 7-8 mm away from the horn and turnsignal self canceling contacts. You can stretch the horn contact upwards if you are willing to manually cancel the turning signals. Eventually you will cause undue wear on that horn contact.
