Well, I got my 87 back from Halsey. They ended up rebuilding the tranny & replacing the clutch assembly & engine main seal. The pinion bearing looked like someone had gone at it with a hammer & chisal. It was pretty gauled. Seems to be running & shifting very good. Do I need to change the tranny oil in 300 miles like I would if I rebuilt the engine? Halsey did not say anything & I forgot to ask. Thanks. Pat Callaghan 87 Westy GL Portland, OR. www.patcal.com |
