Oh, one error. Amoco Ultimate is the only gas that is different. It IS sent separately from other fuels, and the pipeline goes through some generous "flush" when they pull down AU. Everything else: Gas is Gas.

Gas is Gas.

It is the additive package (added literally as they fill the tanker that is headed to your station), that makes a difference, if any.

I use cheap gas, but run Techron or STP fuel injector cleaner every 8-10 tanks, or when I notice the performance drop to 0-60 in more than 30 seconds. 1982 Westfalia with 2056 air-cooled.

I have been told that Texaco and Chevron high octane are the best options for gas for older VWs. Are there any brands to for sure stay away from? and what about conoco or amoco? thanks
