well, i sent some email to vw of south africa, inquiring into the possibility of them producing a dvd with the volksiebus/microbus tv commercials (and maybe magazine adverts?) on it in .mpg format. we'll see what response i get ... probably "sorry, our lawyers tell us we cannot do this as the commercials are the property of the advertising agency" or some such. :( that was the response i got from vw of germany when asking if copies of the magazine ads were available from them.

if anyone on the list in germany has any info/influence with vw, would you ask around and see if such a product would be possible from them as well? i would imagine that it would be something very marketable ... especially if they produced a dvd for each car type ... like golf and jetta and eurovan and our beloved vanagons. ;) even the old stuff, if they still have it.

unca joel
