Larry, check out "The Hungry Hiker's Cookbook". It's for backpackers, but very useful for westies as well. Basically, she makes all kinds of crazy stuff, then dehydrates it on a cookie sheet in the oven, then puts it in a ziploc bag. Rehydrate with hot water, and voila. Also, she has tips for saving fuel for the stove, i.e. soaking things like pasta for 30min. before turning on heat, etc. bmc :) "Faith will move mountains, but you'd better bring a shovel...."

Volks,

As I work on the Web Site for my upcoming trip, it occurred to me that I might need to prepare a meal or two while on the road for a year or more.

But I can only prepare two dishes, neither which I care for that much :)

Scouring the archives, I got 70+ hits for recipes.

Great ... starting point.

I'll sort through these and post the best.

But I bet there are still a bunch of great ones out there.

So Volks ..... please send your favorites if they aren't in the archives.

To quote one of the recipe postings "camping recipes you can make easily on a small, two-burner stove".

I'll put them on the website for all to reference. One nice neat, all in one place package.

As I come across new ones I'll post them and keep the collection growing.

Eat, Shrink, Be Mary!

Larry Chase
