Just a quick note on this subject. Only 10% to 20% of people are "sodium sensitive" and only those people will see a blood pressure increase from a high sodium diet. It has no apparent adverse effects upon the rest of the population. Twenty years ago docs were trying to get everybody to go low salt, but no more. Many of the people on the low sodium diets incurred heart problems related to the "sodium pump." So, if you are in the "sodium sensitive" group, watch the labels, but if you are not, don't worry about it. Naturally, check with your own doc.
