I believe they are referring to the Volkswagen Transporter Pocket mechanic by Peter Russek manuals. I bought my copy while in England last Sept. for the VW Action show and the Malvern Vanfest.

It covers the Volkswagen Transporter carburettor and fuel injection 1.9L and 2.1L petrol (gasoline) engines. The one I have does not cover the air-cooled motors. It's small so it will fit nicely in a glove box and looks pretty useful, although a little hard to read (the type tends to run together, i.e. "ThecheckingoperationofthecrankshaftendfloatdependsonthetypeofNo.1crankshaft bearing" (from page 27, section 1.3.0.2 Crankshaft end float). It has 204 pages and was fairly cheap. Try www.VWbooks.co.uk for the whole line of Peter Russek manuals (including T4 and I think T2) as well as lots of other VW books that we don't get here in the states. You can also try www.russek-manuals.com.

Personally I prefer the Bentley and the Russek manual hasn't even made it home from my office yet.

Chilton?

There is another manual done by a British firm (and the name escapes me for the moment), which is like a trimmed down version of the Bentley (only 1/2 inch thick instead of 3 inches thick). I've got this one also, but I use the Bentley more often.
