Vanagon friends... you asked:

0-50 in 23 seconds 0-60 in 44 seconds

Relevant factoids: elevation 130' above sea level air temp +/- 87 F motor temp 190 F (oil) 2 passengers (340 lb total) Completely full gas tank 1/2 full water tank, full propane 100 lbs camping gear, porta-potti, etc. 70 lb middle seat Shifting 2-3 needle-widths above redline dots in 1st and 2nd. Shifting 3rd at 54 mph.

Motor: 2056 cc (96mm x 71mm) with counterweighted crank and complete race balance, Pertronix Igniter on Bosch 205 (OEM) distributor, blue coil, EGR disconnected for test. Everything else stock as from the factory for 1982 Federal. About 300 miles on new heads, new Total seal rings, 25k on bottom end.

Next motor will be a Jake Raby 94 x 78 with bigger valves and CIS... the Vanagon needs less bore, and more stroke for added torque... then maybe we'll see 0-60 in 38 seconds. Brick.

at sea level maybe. here in denver i get 60 in about 45 seconds in an 82 westy. the oil loss could be several things but yes that sounds excessive to me. jimt On Thursday, Oct 3, 2002, at 10:09 America/Denver, Sean Garrett wrote: > 1.
