Subject: Attn: Fellow Westy owners with shrinking vinyl trim on cabinets
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Folks -

My Westy is 17 years old, and despite being in otherwise terrific shape, the vinyl trim on its cabinetry has shrunk so there are "gaps" here and there. There have been suggestions on the list from time to time about removing the trim, boiling it, stretching it and so forth. This just doesn't work all that well. There's also been talk about going to cabinet shops to purchase replacement materials. Easier said than done - I've tried.

I have found a place that is a wholesale distributor of suitable replacement material, but they only sell in 250' quantities. I've received sample materials, and while not an "identical" match, its darn close. I'm looking for a few others who share the same issue and would be interested in splitting a large quantity of the materials into equal lots that will be suitable for our individual needs. Costs range from 18 cents to 32 cents a foot, plus shipping & handling etc. My trim needs are brown - so our "gray" bretheren are on their own, or maybe someone else will organize a "gray" molding share. You can view the materials at www.outwater.com - under T-moldings and Bumper moldings.

If you are interested in sharing in a "brown" group purchase, p-mail me at mw575@aol.com for more details. Thanks.

Mike W.
