Howdy All,

I am in the middle of installing my new South African grill and dual round
lights onto my '87 Vanagon. It isn't going quite as planned. I have already
consulted the archive, but I haven't found what I was looking for.

It was easy to install the round H4 lights. The inner lights supplied with
the kit I purchased from Bus Depot do not bolt on as I had anticipated. The
inner lights that came with the kit are pre-mounted on brackets. The
question is how this bracket mounts onto the front of the Vanagon.

It appears as if I must remove the tab (which is held on by 2 pop rivets)
that the previous headlight frame (for rectangular lights) was mounted to.
It then appears that I must do my best to line up the light bracket where I
think it should go (using the grill as a guide). From there I should mark
where I need to drill holes to mount this light bracket.

Do I have it right? Do I need to first remove that riveted tab? Do I just
have to line up where I think the light/bracket assembly needs to go and
then drill my holes? Am I missing something? Is there any other advice?

I have all the wiring in place and I am just ready to bolt in these last
lights. By the way, the new grill looks great. I have it temporarily mounted
along with the H4s. Nice.
