I like "Tuff Stuff" for almost all interior stuff, except windows. Works
great, smells great.
When filthy/deep clean: Spray on, let set for 1-3 minutes, scrub with a
damp sponge or upholstery brush. Towel off THOROUGHLY with a white terry
cloth towel. Using Tuff-Stuff, I shampooed the interior of a friend's
car (a smoker) who thought their interior was tan/beige. Turns out it
was white/alabaster. Nasty.
For regular cleaning, spray on, wait a minute, towel off completely. I
do this about once a month on seats/driver's carpet.
The grime will wash right out of the towels if you wash them IMMEDIATELY
(while the tuff stuff is still wet. If you don't have a few old bath
towels in your rag bin, wait for your spouse to leave and use their
least favorites from the linen closet, and replace them with some snappy
new ones. This will get you some good lovin'. ;-)

I have a "new" '91 Westy that didn't look like it had been cleaned since
the '90s. The carpets and upholstery have been taken care of, now I'm
on to the walls. The interior walls and ceiling appear to be covered in
almost a type of wallpaper. I've read others describe it as vinyl in a
thatched pattern. I was just going to attack it with 409 and a lot of
towels before I thought better.
Searching vanagon.com and the mailing list archives turned up the
following solutions: Armor-All Cleaner, Turtle Wax upholstery cleaner,
TSP(!) and bleach and water. Anyone have any annecdotes about these
approaches? The walls are filty with lots of packed on dirt. I always
thought TSP was really harsh and I definitely don't want to go the
bleach route. The stuff seems somewhat fragile, so I don't want to give
myself a new headache by destroying the existing material.
Any suggestions or warnings? Also, can anyone confirm that the
wall/roof material is indeed vinyl.
