I've only made a few around the neighborhood drives in this 356c sitting in my driveway (friends car) but with just a few trips I can see that the sound of the engine, the way it grabs corners and the great acceleration it just encourages you to drive fast. I'd have to put it in the real sports car category. It makes me wonder just how fast James Dean's Porsches were. The 356c claims to be 109 top end but even the one in my drive has been up-cc-ed and farther modified to put out about 90 hp. That isn't a lot unless your ride only weighs 1900 pounds. I've been told that they were one of his real things that he used to escape the Hollywood crowd.
