as long as you dont get stopped at  an inspection station.the quick
release fittings are not DOT  legal.  must be "permanently"
affixed.been that route with some other stuff. we thought it was rather
strange when you can put a shelf mount on the back or front and put
stuff in them with straps and be legal.
