On the note of almost famous VW's, my 7-year old daughter checked out her weekly video Friday evening. She chose "Mac and Me" which seemed to be a spinoff of ET in that a poor little alien ended up on earth and befriended a nice family. The family/alien spent the entire show escaping authority by dashing around town in a beautiful brand-new silver vanagon (1987 model I think, maybe not??). They blazed down dirt roads and all. I'm sure the van was bought brand new for the show.

Anyway, the movie is goofy but watching van was cool.
