Careful Clive, you might catch one yourself someday...the first (and only, so far) virus I've distributed was in fact to all 800 members of the Vanagon list, and it happened when I used my sister's computer in Seattle to send mail. Her machine had been infected for seven months at the time (it was the one that put up a little fireworks display if you ran it -- Good Times? I forget) -- but she used AOL which doesn't go through the regular TCP/IP stack and wasn't affected. I installed a "real" mailer, and guess where I sent my first message...
