Why rush something so critical as this? Allow the engine to warm up. Use
the coolant system's own pressure to purge at the bleeder. You want to get
the best circulation you can, through both heater cores. Then crack the
radiator bleed bolt. Nothing to it.

Hmm...maybe this is true on the WBX, but on my diesel I get *no* flow at
the radiator bleeder valve until the thermostat opens. I don't even get
air hissing out. Last time I revved it up with the heater valve open to
purge the heater core, topping up the expansion tank as needed, then
closed the heater valve and let it warm up to operating temp before trying
to bleed the radiator.
