What a great survey! I have enjoyed seeing what others keep in thier Westy
and where! I personally think of my Westy as the Ultimate Mom Mobile! : )
> A - under drivers seat
Aux battery with power inverter, and three extra cig plugs mounted above on
the side of kitchen cuboard.
> B - Drawer
Mainly kitchen utensils, knives, matches, box of hair ties for emergency.
Emergency dollar or two for gas (g) straws, lighter, bottle opener, and can
opener, and twist ties.
> C - sink cab
I have a clean towel here to stop the stove from rattling.
> D - Refer
I plug in the night before, and place cheese, chees sticks for the kids,
yogurt, milk, bottled water if it is really hot. veggies, eggs, some soda in
the door. Usually one prepared meal to heat up later.
> E - little door (by floor)
The bathroom and first aid cuboard. Diapers also go in here, anlong with
wipes, etc pertaining to children.
> F,G - horizontal cab - under back table
shallow one:
books, workbooks, puzzles, paper and drawing supplies for the kids.
clipboards too.
deep one:
all things toys, or related to toys. Small basket put inside to hold
snacks, and drink boxes for the kids for immediate consumption.
> H - closet
my clothing, blankets, my pillows, and sheets
> I - Back cab
emergency flares, emergency water purification kit, extra stove (I don't
like to cook in the van) Little propane tanks. Jug of distilled water,
screens for back, side, and little one for the pop top. Candles,
flashlight, etc.
> J - under sink
canned food, cereal boxes, dried fruit, paper plates, cooking pans, cups,
peanut butter. I have a little wire tray on the door, and I put sandwich
bags, and garbage bags in there.
> T - tray above window
Batteries, book light, misc rocks, and shells, safety pins, , camera, and a
little bottle of dish soap. On the outside end of tray near driver door, I
put a little v shaped towel holder. I also have two extra magnet tent
lights that stick to the tray for extra light.
Under the back seat
I have a long, skinny table that just fits. Tire chains, baseball gloves,
balls, and bat. Awning that I made, with poles, and stakes. Manuals, and
bungee cords!!!
Tray behind air conditioner
Tire iron, jack, chain for the dog, misc small stuff
Hidden under back cabinet
extension cords to plug in
Baskets of fruit, bread, etc go on the counter that houses the sink and
stove.
I have a shelf that hangs from the tray, that houses videos for the kids,
along with some books for me. The front table is currently out, and space
is being converted to hold a table that is tall, swings out when you want to
use the sink, and holds the tv/vcr for the long trips.
I house the kids clothing in a clear plastic box. They keep their pillows
next to them usually. Garbage bag hangs from the table tightening knob for
them. Garbage for the front passengers is between the passenger, and the
jumpseat behind. (jumpseat is my newest addition) also the dog food fits
here in a plastic container. Holds about 5 days worth. Dog leash.
Glove box
asprin, and sinus meds, emergency bee sting kit, pens, maps, misc papers and
newest records for the Van, original manuals, extra fuses, misc screws, wire
ties, film, lots of napkins. This unfortunately has also become a junk
drawer, so it has lots of other little interesting stuff in it.
The carbon holder (ash tray) holds a few quarters for parking, and
appointment cards. Oh, and thumb screws for the awning.
The floor holds the dog bed and dog, and bowl or water for the dog. Most
times I also bring my sewing machine, and sewing box.
