For what its worth.. My brother is a Beamer Mechanic at the local shop here in San Diego. One of the guys there has been working on Beamers and Volkswagens for a long long time. (First in Germany and now here). I asked him what he uses for a tourque wrench and he showed me a nifty tool from Snap-On.. I tourqued a few bolts on a 7 series and it was pretty neat. It is fully shielded in rubber, is a ratchet and has a digital read out. Whne you are tourqing it tells you what level you are at and then when you reach the set torque it chirps and the handle also vibrates. Finally, it will tell you what your max torque was during that pull. The cost is about 280.00 which is pretty steep but man that thing is cool!! Tom |
