I've had a variety of torque wrenches side by side doing the same job. A snap-on dial type (actually has a beam inside and a little gear), A Sturdevant clicker and a Chinese ElCheapo. The Snap on and Sturdevant got the same results at 23 Pounds on the crank case. The Chinese clicker wrench was more accurate at 85 pounds on the Flywheel bolts since both the Snap On and Sturdevant were at the outer limits of their capacity. I got as much as 8 pounds difference on the clicker wrenches. Using the Snap-on as my guide, I finished torque with it.
