Why not just wrap the tube with plastic electrical tape and see if that is the leaking joint? The boiling water thing works great. You can stretch it out or tighten a hose clamp on it before you dip it in the boiling water and shrink it also. My mother uses a walker and it has rear feet that skid and wear out. The replacement feet are about $6.00 each. That's how the word gets revenge if you ever draw social security, high priced 'anything that is health care'. Anyway I but PVC end caps at Ace hardware for sixty cents each, boil them and put them on the legs and they not only look the same, they do the same thing. Wear out in about three weeks just like the $6.00 ones. A handy $10.00 savings for two minutes work.
