thanks for the help bob, i actually figured it out last night, it was the plastic spacer that was being stuborn about coming off...a few taps with a hammer, a deep breath, pull like a maniac, and it came right off, almost in my face....thanks for all the advice scott

> Bob > > All you need to remove is [in this order]; > 1. ignition key from switch; > 2. horn button from steering wheel; > 3. 17mm nut that holds down steering wheel; > 4. steering wheel; > 5. lower steering wheel collum cover [two screws]; > 6. three screws in top of collum that hold down and > align turn > indicator switch assembly/high-low beam assembly and > the windshield > wiper switch assembly; > 7. disconnect the three different wire harness > connectors from the > bottom of the ignition-starter switch and the above > mentioned switch > assemblies; > 8. upper steering wheel collum cover and switch > assemblies; > 9. 6mm hex bolt that holds ignition switch housing > to collum; > 10. place ignition key in switch and turn on to > "run" position; > 11. using small ballpeen hammer or 1/2" drive socket > extention, tap on > bottom of housing till it comes all the way off; > 12. turn housing over and using a Reed+Prince type > Phillips screw > driver, remove screw that holds the ignition switch > to ignition switch > housing; > 13. assemble in reverse order; > NOTE: > A. pay attention to the plastic sleave bushing's > orientation that came of > collum shaft when housing was removed; > B. pay particular attention to assemly of turn > indicator switch together > with high-low beam switch as you place it on collum > assembly;
