Subject: More Wiring Success
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hey all, After installing a relay for my driving lights successfully, I decided to 'ride the high' and beef up my horn. It was a sad little horn, and let out a pitiful "mmmbbeeep-p-p" when you hit the button. At highway speeds, you couldn't hear it at all. So, I went to Discount Auto Parts and looked at what they have. Got a nice 130 decibel horn, under $10. When home, put it on, and "mmmmbbeeeeep-p-p". A slightly different tone, but still sad. So I tested the old horn by hooking it up directly to the battery........ After my ears stopped bleeding, I said to myself, "This must be a wiring problem". Crappy old contacts in the steering wheel and tiny wires. To make a short story long, I bolted BOTH horns back on, made a new harness for them out of some stout wire, and slipped a relay in for good measure. Ran a 10 gauge wire up for power. Put in the fuse and gave it a try.

BEEEEEP!!!!

Now THAT is a horn. I believe it is in everyone's best interest to not make me use the horn. A weapon of last resort. Or, at least people will hear me on the interstate.
