Why bother? I just picked up a used VW unit for $35 at the junk yard.

I'm once again looking for a Heidelberg radio that may be defective but has a good tape deck to swap into mine. Tape deck in mine ate a gear or two. I know there are better solutions but I just want the VW original radio back ! I got two from list members over the last couple of months and both were not compatible with mine. Seems they made a few variations all with different tape decks. I need the tape deck from the Heidelberg radio that has all electronic push button control and remote controller. On/off & volume is electronic push button - no rotary knob ! I would like to have the complete radio as I can then use it all for spare parts. The two I have received lately have no interchangeable parts. I may be able to repair them and have them for sale soon if anyone's interested. Both are rotary knob control. One is mechanical push button tape deck control, Heidelberg III No. 36073, model # 155 035 180, the other is electronic push button tape deck control, Heidelberg No. 33798, model # 161 035 180E.

Please P-mail me with details so not to bother the List.

Cheers
