The fridge fan is connected directly to the battery. Its feed is ALWAYS hot. The fan should come on any time the temperature behind the fridge reaches the point that sets off the thermostat. About 80 ~ 90 degree F, I think. For the fridge to work properly the area behind the fridge must be kept cool to expel the heat from the heat transfer fins.
