Well, a flurry of three posts from me in a row-- yipes!  Just want them
under their own subject lines.

I'm heading down to my old home grounds in Portland, OR (from north central
WA where I live now) next week, for a week's stay.  I do this every April
and October to see friends and my rheumatologist, and it's a good time to
take VanaBlue to a specialist if she needs one, also. ;-)

I've been gearing up (no pun intended) to change the tranny oil since I
don't see anything about it ever being done in PO's receipts, and I'm over
225,000 miles on the tranny (engine was replaced at 140,000)...and I called
Halsey Auto where I've gone before and asked what they'd charge for labor
for changing it out for me and they said $13.  Heck it would cost me 3.90
for the 17mm TranCanOpener, so now I'm at under 10 bucks to save myself a
crawl under the van and to have the thing at a place that knows these rigs
should anything go wrong.  Can't beat that!

So I won't ask if anyone in Portland wants to get together and do a tranny
oil change clinic, like I was gonna;  but I will ask if there's anyone in
the area that wants to get together one day between the 19th-23rd (October)
to have coffee and chat Vanagons, or to go salvage yard shopping or the
like.  P-mail is good.
