On your car you're in charge and it sounds like your plan works. If your girlfriend is in a geographic area without extreme temperature changes that cause condensation, I'd say once a year. If however she is in an area with extreme cold as NE it could be changed at the begriming of the winter season and again at the end. Dirty isn't the question here its just the potential of moisture accumulation in the oil pan that often gets distributed throughout the engine and can cause rust pitting in hot cylinder walls in situations where the car is sitting for long periods gathering more condensation. If the car is garaged and stays at constant temperatures other than during drive times I'd just change it once a year.
