I agree. It was a pee-poor install by the original mechanic when I had new hoses installed. Careful attention should have been paid to clearnances. And my failure to scrutinize things more closely added to the problem, even though this problem that was developing was actually out of sight and not obvious. Just to look at the top of the engine all you would see would be the hose well separated from the throttle cable end. But in fact, every time the gas pedal was actuated, the end of the throttle cable would punch out and stab into the lower side of the cable. The action happening was actually out of sight and even with the hatch open, it was and action not obvious. It eventually punctured the hose.
