the metal strap connects from the mudflap to the lip inside the wheelwell, on the inner part of the wheelwell, not the outer body. i just drilled a hole in the lip, and bolted it there, as well as drilled and screwed the mudflaps on. i didnt use any of those stupid clip things.. used stainless steel screws.
