Subject: input shaft, pilot bearing questions
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed

I FINALLY got a few moments today to "play" in the garage a bit. I was working on installing the input shaft in the 4 spd diesel transmission. I was unable to get it threaded on entirely. There is a little play in the shaft. Should I try to get this on further? I'm finding it very difficult to get things positioned to thread the shaft on any further. Maybe there's a trick I've not yet heard??

Also, I'm fighting like heck to remove the pilot bearing. I've tried the grease trick with no luck. I think I may try a rotary tool with a cut-off wheel tonight. Any last advice?

Thanks, Brad
