The only difference for the saddles is right/left, and Syncro/2WD. The Syncro saddles will hold the muffler higher. It is possible the Cat is not in the correct location or the muffler may be installed backwards. The flamge that has the three holes threaded faces the tailpipe. Lokking at that end of the muffler, it should sit at about 7:00 o'clock.

In my 86 westy had a new muffler installed. No matter how he tried to turn it, there was no way the mechanic could get it to hang low enough to install the tail pipe facing backward. It sits so high, some of the sheet metal vibrates on it. The mounting saddles are also new and it seems to me that they carry the muffler too high. Looked in Bently and enquired of Bow Wow if they had different mounting saddles for 86 and later. They said their fiche only showed the one.

Any thoughts on this?
