Worst I tasted was along the C&O Canal (Chesapeake & Ohio Canal) along side the Potomac River. At various spots along the tow path, there are hiker/biker rest areas with "potable" water. Awful tasting! Boil it and watch the rust settle out. And it still tastes terrible.
