Subject: options for repairing poptop zipper?

The beauty of a Westy is that there's always something new to fix:

The zipper for my poptop's window just separated, fortunately at the _end_ of a 10-day trip. My attempts to get it to rezip and get the nylon coils to self-heal failed. (Funny, on my sleeping bags and packs you just rezip and the teeth re-engage).

Short of removing the whole poptop canvas (ugh), what's the best option for repairing (more probably, replacing) the zipper? It's not like I can use a sewing machine up there to put in a new zipper.

TIA, -- Nolan 87 Westy "Hanz"
