My setup:
Cheapo Clarion 4" in stock position (purchased before i decided i cared about how the music sounded)+ 6 1/2" Infinity 652s (? i think?) in the lower bit of the door.
I ended up putting a capacitor on the clarion to turn it into a mid/tweeter, but if i were to do this again, i'd just go out and get one of the three-speaker systems, putting the bass in the bottom of the door and the mids/tweets in the top. The difference between a 4" speaker and a 6" speaker is phenomenal in how it richens up the sound...
Also, regarding the map pocket, i just simply (well, almost... took a little time) cut out around my speaker, which is also a little on the high-profile side. The pocket is full of maps and only a couple sit up a little... not enough to interfere even remotely with the window crank. It is almost a feature (have the maps you want ready to be pulled out :-)
Anyway, that's my suggestion...

If you've had experience please let me know what worked or not worked in the past. Many Thanks! -Mike
