Stan wrote Better start looking for some +.020 align bore main bearings. Seems VW Canada align bored as a standard practice. Nothing wrong with the blocks its just that the bearings are double top triple the normal bearing price and hard to find.

I have a huge inventory of 1.9 main bearing in STD, 20 and 40 over on the case and I can supply bearings in most sizes and align bore any flat 4 water or aircooled case Bob Donalds http://www.bostonengine.com
