Oh, silly me. Yes, its a 1987 Westly GL.

I've had more trouble with VDO speedos and tachs in the last 2 years.

Tach in my '55 356 would occasionally start whining, really high pitched -
and then stop. Bearing went, as far as I can tell.  We'd put a little
grease in there and it'd stop whining for a few days and then start again.
Really hard to concentrate on driving. Ended up sending it to some guys in
San Jose or Palo Alto for a rebuild.
