<< I have a Coleman Griddle >>

An utterly useless device for anything other than heating frozen waffles. With my son's Boy Scout troop, I have been though a bunch of the junk Coleman hawks to the unsuspecting outdoor types. Now, it you want a real do-all piece of cookware which will serve almost any culinary endeavor, get a Lodge Fish Pan. It is a 20" X 12" X 3'' cast iron pan. The depth is what makes it really useful. Try frying a pound of bacon in that Coleman jewel with the grease reservoir and see how much of the grease is reserved in it. The Lodge Fish Pan will fry up a pound of bacon or a dozen and a half of burgers without a mess. With an inch of oil in it, you can make French fries that are as good as it gets. You want enough chili for an army, you got it. The thing is as close to universal as it gets.

The true beauty of this pan is that you can use it on your sissy propane stove or over a real man's fire fueled with hardwood. It is not as cheap as the Coleman abomination but, it will still be in use long after you are gone. Oh, I almost forgot: in a pinch you can drive onto it in order to level your RV.

George
