Depends on the speaker... the infinity that i installed would definitely not (without sheetmetal mods) go low enough to clear the map pocket. The speaker sticks in to the pocket about a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch. Doesn't bother me at all, though.

I heartily concur on your point about the size mattering. Huge difference, indeed.
