I ran a 59 and a 62 Model Chevrolet one ton truck until 1992 in my Construction business. These weren't trash haulers, still good trucks that passed State Inspections. We bought both trucks new for less than $2400.00 each. My last New Pickup truck, a 84 Chevy 3/4 Cost over $14,000.00, that might be why they are expected to last longer. The new 3/4 Ton Chevy truck equipped like my 84 now cost over $26,000.00

Is there any reason that people are forced to keep them on the road?
