Subject: master cylinder or pressure plate-master to blame
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

so i wrote earlier last week about having a problem with my clutch starting to go out, or so i thought. after reading a bit in the archives, and a few ideas from the list,i had narrowed it down to the master cylinder or pressure plate needing some attention. the master was not leaking, and most of the post's in the archives mentioned leaking masters, which led me to believe i might have a bigger problem... i decided to replace the master cylinder as it is fairly cheap, and mine looked old anyway, as a place to start. when i first went out to the van with my new master to have a look, i was fairly let down...the master is a bit cramped in where it lives, and i was having nitemare visions of not being able to get the new one in place, if i could even get the old one out...from posts i have read the job was slated for an hour. from looking at the problem i was seeing the sun going down, and me with a handful of greasy, busted parts...as it turns out, it is as easy as i had read, and been told, and a half hour, or so, later...the clutch is back to normal.... thanks to all who tried to help with my problem, and the list in general, if for nothing else than its recorded history...
