Sounds like a bad temp I or temp II sender (the sender that tells the ECU what the coolant temperature is). I have seen this problem before. The easiest test I found was to go out first thing in the morning when the van is cold. Since you have a digitool, turn the knob from Temp I to Temp II readings. They should be the same or very close to each other. If not then test both of these senders and replace the one that is out of spec (per Bentley). Hope this helps. PS the remainder of your parts are on the way. Hi, My 84 Westy 1.9 has a starting when the engine is warm. The engine cranks over but will not start. If you let it set for 5 to 10 minutes it starts up with no problem. I have Darrell's Digitool and the fuel injection LED on the Digitool will light up, but the light will not pulse when it won't start, The light will pulse normally when the system works either in the cranking mode or running mode. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Larry Calhoun |
