............. PS: I was looking up why my van backwashes gas all over my shoes when I fill up. If anyone has discovered a cheap AND easy new solution, let me know..... Bill. I had the same problem with my '85. No problem with my '90! I think that it is because I've taken to inserting the pump nozzle all the way into the filler tube and NOT trying to top off, just quit when the auto-shutoff trips. I just leave it at that rather than trying to get another little bit into the tank. Of course, when I'm in Oregon, their fully automated filling system (mindless robot that stands by the fuel pumps and jumps to action when you pull up) has to be overridden using loud voice commands to avoid the 'wash your shoes' problem. |
