Brian, Vanagons including those with the Westy and Syncro options are of unibody (unit-body?) construction. Anyway, it is not like the early VW's where you can unbolt the bodies from the frames and/or chassis. What you would do if you wanted to swap things around would be essentially swap suspension components. The bodies stay where they are. Pioneers in the procedure on the List is Larry Hamm & Mark Drillock. Hopefully, one of them will notice your posting and advice you on a proper course of action. I personally think it is much cheaper in the long run to sell what you have and buy what you want. In other words, sell your present vehicles and use the money to buy a proper Syncro.
