Alan et al,
It could be a windshield leak if the van has spent a lot of time outside in the
weather and the rubber has perished or shrunk.
But don't use silicone....sure it'll work but will cause rust to form in
the longer
term due to the acetic acid in silicone. The proper windscreen sealant...the
black gooey stuff would be far better.
But...there are other possibilities for leaks in the front of T3s....
Water can get in around the radio ariel hole, past the rubber grommet and run
along the co-axial cable and drip onto your foot.
It can run down the door rubber at the front edge if the rubber is again old &
perishing or the door isn't aligned properly, perhaps a result of an earlier
accident. This is however the least likely scenario...
Water can run down inside the door past the scraper (yea I know it's meant to)
but sometimes, instead of running out the drain holes at the bottom of the door,
can drip out the bottom edge of the holecut into the door panels for speakers.
There is also a mystery leak I've seen where all of the above have been
eliminated
as possibilities but water still leaks into the footwell.
There seems to be somewhere, possibly behind the headlights where water can
find it's way in on some vans...usually the passenger's side when parked
against
the gutter on the street.
This is the elusive "G-spot" that sometimes we never find...;-)
Good luck in your search!
