The temperatures dropped this week in mid-Missouri and when I leave home in
the mornings the temp is between 35 and 45 degrees. I have never had a
problem with my engine warming up on cold mornings, I can usually just drive
it normally. It idles fine but when you give it gas it acts as though the
fuel filter is clogged or it is running on 3 cylinders. It has a new fuel
pump and I just put a new fuel filter on and it still has the problem. With
the car in neutral when revving up the engine it has a strange hesitation
(kind of a stumbling missing sound), and while driving it will hesitate and
surge in each gear in the lower half of the revs. Once the engine is warmed
up there is no problem it drives just fine. Is this simply a temp sensor
that needs to be replaced? Or something more complicated? I do believe it is
FI related.
