Subject: Help on transaxle
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

have an 82 Westy with a 1.9TD in it. When I bought it I was told it was a rebuilt and higher-geared transaxle. Earlier this week while on a trip, it popped out of 4th gear. It progressively worsened until I could no longer hold it in 4th and traveled the last 100 miles or so in 3rd. but made it home. I'm sure it is higher geared because it easily goes 70 and will go past 80 on a pass. How do I identify this transaxle. Where do I look and what do I look for. Does anyone have a used trans for sale. Does anyone on the list rebuild them. BTW, this makes a rattling noise when you push the clutch in. Any help on this would be appreciated. I'm in Salem, OR
