That indicator light is turned on by a gear box in the speedo cable. The way it's supposed to work, when the light comes on the life of the oxy sensor has been reached (an interval designed to prevent oxy failure and damage therefrom), the oxy should be replaced and mixture reset, then the button on the gear box is pushed to reset the oxy mileage interval switch gear box.
