Look for an oily sheen floating on top of your expansion bottle, or a coating of oily goo on the inside edges of it and your overflow bottle. The oil doesn't mix with the coolant and it'll seperate out and cling to the plastic. I've never seet ATF in coolant, but I've seen motor oil. It doesn't take much.

Also, if any leaks the other way, you'll find white foam in the ATF.
