My 85 has a small 'regurgitation' problem, as well. It's not as bad as some seem to have it, though-- a 'ploot' of a few tablespoons when the pump hits the full mark. But I don't like having dribbles of gas down my paint, and getting hit with on the shoe every so often.

A couple months ago this thread came up and someone suggested stopping the pump before it hit the full/auto shutoff point and letting the air out. I've been doing that-- just wiggle the nozzle up so there's some room between it and the flap-- for a couple seconds as it approaches full, and then letting it fill the last half gallon or so on auto. And no more wet burps.

Sounds like this doesn't work for everyone, though. :-( Just thought I'd be counted as someone it works for, though.
