I seem to recall that it's even more involved than Kim mentions.  Look
closely at the front end details on a syncro.  There is a BIG difference in
the sheet metal configuration to accommodate the front drive system.
(that's why the tank is in the rear).  mdrillock has details and by now
personal experience on doing such a conversion.
