Yes......teasing! I don't believe you can "break into" these and recharge them. They are only $15-20 bucks. I replaced mine on the '91 Westy with two of the "super-dooper" one's from one of the vendors here. They lasted (held up my bike-rack-laden hatch) about 3 months before they began to droop. On my current '87 I replaced them with some I got from Checker Auto here in Salt Lake. So far they have been stout...no fade but we'll see if they hold up both the hatch and rack for how long.

"The arms that hold my rear door up seem to have suddenly given out and only hold it half-way up. Is there any way to adjust the pressure in these so they'll hold it up again, or do I have to replace them?"
